Huts are a good bet if you are planning to spend more than a week at Pahalgam. They are not exactly cheap, but offer good conveniences in terms of having a whole place to yourself. There is a kitchen with some very rudimentary things, that then needs to be spruced up. Sometimes, LPG has to be arranged, so has to be linen. You may not always get a hut which is directly accessible from road, so a short hike may be in the store to get to the hut. But undoubtedly, huts offer the most adventurous experience of staying in Pahalgam.The reservation list for the huts is generally long. So book well in advance.
